EDGEWOOD was developed during Atlanta’s Reconstruction era economic boom that lasted from 1870 to 1910 to accommodate the growing needs of residents that worked downtown. Primarily geared toward blue collar workers, Edgewood’s historic housing is made up of craftsman bungalows vs the Victorian architecture you may find in neighboring communities. Today, everyone from hipsters to young families are moving to Edgewood for its central location and community amenities. Home prices are still reasonable for the area and there are renovated bungalows, new construction homes, condos and townhomes available.
